Create my profile now!We have decided to put her on full loan (to move yards) because my daughter has sadly outgrown her, however we do not want to part ways as she is very much a part of the family.
Nelly would be a perfect happy hacker\gentle worker for a confident, young rider. My daughter spent most of her time jumping Nelly but she became lame due to her mild arthritis a few months ago so she mostly does flatwork. She has completely recovered and the lameness only lasted a week (she was treated with Bute which was very effective) but as much as she loves jumping, we think it would be best for Nelly to do more hacking and pole/flatwork - maybe the occasional small jump but nothing over 40 cm.
We originally bought Nelly for a riding school but it was decided she was a too forward so we moved her to a livery yard.
My daughter has also currently been using Nelly to give my son (a complete novice rider) lessons and she has proven herself to be gentle and willing.
Nelly loves to be groomed, cuddled and she LOVES her food and would suit a family loan. She is quite zoomy and can get a bit excited at times so she will need an experienced young rider to keep her engaged and calm. She will walk past anything as long as she is reassured and encouraged.
Nelly can fit herself through any space as long as she is sure about it, she is good with dogs and is happy to hack with company and alone but much prefers to be with friends. She is fine out in the field all year round but at the moment, she is stabled at night and grazing during the day. Great in the field with other horses and loves to be out with a herd but will get very agitated when out alone.
She will come with rugs, a fly mask, a bridle and a brand new Jump saddle which has just been fitted.
Nelly is in a universal bit which is very effective but will always hold her head high. She has had a very complicated history so is a bit weary of her surroundings and so needs a calm, reassuring home. She has never bucked, reared or done anything malicious but her paces can take some getting used to. She is slightly head shy because of her history and despises hoses but we have been working on this and she is improving each day. She will also only load if there is another horse in the trailer... She is barefoot, good with the farrier, dentist and vet.
We all have grown so fond of Nelly and want to make sure she goes to the best temporary home nearby as it would be wonderful if we could come and see her every once in a while.
I have about 100000 photos and videos of Nelly so if you are interested, I would be happy to chat.
